SUREN RAJAH graduated from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and is a Barrister-at-Law of The Honourable Society of Inner Temple where he was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 2009. He was subsequently admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2010.
With a wealth of experience in Corporate & Commercial Advisory, Suren is well-versed in litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and mediation. He has successfully advised and represented clients across a wide range of construction, commercial, and contractual matters, spanning from procurement and contract administration to comprehensive dispute resolution strategies. Notably, Suren's esteemed credentials include being an accredited adjudicator and serving on the panel of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).
In the area of regulatory compliance, Suren provides advice in the field of Competition Law having previously held the position of Senior Assistant Director (Enforcement) at the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC). During his tenure at MyCC, he led and assisted in the development & drafting of internal SOPs (Handling Investigations and Search & Seizure Operations) and was selected as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Speaker for Seminars and Talks on Competition Act 2010. Additionally, he is well-versed in Data Protection Laws and holds the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Suren is also an acrredited HRDC Trainer, delivering training on a wide range of legal topics to enhance understanding and compliance.
Outside of work, Suren indulges in his passion for the music of the past, particularly the classic tunes from the 70s to the 90s. While he may not have a DeLorean time machine, his appreciation for these timeless melodies allows him to travel back in time and experience the nostalgic vibes of those eras.
Beyond being entertained, Suren seeks knowledge and intellectual stimulation, as evidenced by his love for quizzing. He actively challenges himself with a wide range of questions and topics, with a specific focus on the pop culture that emerged between the 70s and the 90s. He enjoys exploring the trends, events, and iconic moments of that era, and through his participation in quizzes, he actively preserves the spirit of that time period and takes pleasure in connecting with the cultural heritage of the past.
